  • Pre 1979 - ANCIENT HISTORY - Since the summer of 1975 and the establishment of JAMIE'S LEATHER in upstate New York, we had been hand making a large variety of small leather products, from belts and wristbands to handbags and wallets, and offered them for sale at Flea Markets, Craft Shows and State Fairs, Roosevelt Raceway Flea Market in Long Island, Republic Airport Flea Market in Farmingdale NY, Vermont State Fair in Rutland VT, just to name a few.
  • ESTABLISHED 1979 -Jamie's Leather began servicing the Upstate New York region with the best valued hand crafted, American Made and imported leather goods available at the best available prices. The first use of the name Jamin' Leather was used upon the opening of the Albany NY store in 1989.

IS JAMIN' SPELT WRONG?
(We pronounce it jammin' or jam in!)

Well we know what some of you are thinking. Jamin' is spelt wrong! Well, you are right, only if you were using the word as as an adjective or adverb, but not if you're writing about the best leather retailer in the industry (at least we think so!). We've read Webster's dictionary (and even received exerts in our e-mail box), but this is a business name that was changed around 1989 intentionally from the name Jamie's Leather (est. 1979) to Jamin', for lack of a better reason, a spelling change. To keep the business ownership anonymous so they can concentrate on the business operations and future of Jamin' Leather. I guess dealing with customers and salespeople disguised as friends and family of the business asking for handouts, discounts, special services and false claims on merchandise can get to anyone after a while.

Jamin' Leather has been pondering over a spelling change to Jam In Leather (has a nice ring and won't be mistaken as a misspelling), but the verdict isn't in yet. Besides we also won't have to change our domain name of jaminleather.com!
